Who are we?

We are Sydney Catholic Early Childhood Services, a not-for-profit provider of early childhood education and care, established to support families within our Catholic parishes, schools and their local communities.

Our commitment to child safety

SCECS is a Child Safe Organisation dedicated to the protection of every child in our care. SCECS aims to create environments where children’s safety and wellbeing is the centre of thought, values and actions.

The framework is underpinned by the United Nations Convention on the rights of children and aims to ensure that every child’s safety and wellbeing is maintained.

"Our boys have been attending SCECS Earlwood for the last couple of years. They absolutely love going and we couldn’t be happier. The team provides a great range of outdoor and indoor activities to keep the boys busy, as well as a good variety of food as they are always eating! The staff are so friendly and caring with the boys, as well as being so approachable for the parents. We had a few problems with one of our boys settling into kindergarten and Catherine and her team were amazing in supporting him, making him feel comfortable and keeping me updated on how he was doing/ideas for how best to help him. “Peta and the team at SCECS Holsworthy are a team of individuals that strive for the best within their team but also for our children. We have two neurodiverse children that attend this service, they are literally welcomed each day with open arms and big smiles. The educators encourage our children to be the best version of themselves, they encourage them to try new activities and celebrate the wins with the kiddos with such enthusiasm! The activities they create and execute are so much fun that my 5 year old often refuses to come home and asks that I go back to work so I can pick her up later. The service that the team provides is second to none. I have not met a team that executes care, love and dedication to our children with such authenticity. “The centre is fabulous! Our children have been attending before and after school care since they started in kindergarten, and they love it! From the moment I walked through the door the Centre Director and Educators made my children and myself feel so welcome. The staff are extremely caring, knowledgeable and genuinely love our children. "As a full time working mother of 2 children I have found SCECS OSHC to be a beautiful extension of the school who provide an exceptional level of before and after school care and vacation services. They have helped to build confidence in my shy kindergartener by providing her with a safe and secure environment to build relationships with other students. My older child has experienced a smooth transition with SCECS becoming our on-site provider with no disruptions to his routine. I always leave the grounds with a smile on my face after being warmly welcomed and watching the children happily settle into their day. The carers are beautiful, there is always an engaging activity planned alongside the smell of a delicious breakfast or late snack. Enrolment and administration processes are easy to manage with both Caitlin and Monique who are happy to assist with anything and everything. "As a working parent it is essential that my children have a consistent care provider for Before and After School Care & Vacation Care. When I enrolled them into SCECS I had no idea that the team there would become friends and the centre would provide my kids with a home away from home, a safe haven and place to feel nurtured as they grow. The team goes above and beyond to provide a variety of enriching experiences in all avenues, whether that be cooking, crafting, exploring or playing. They dedicate their time to researching and seeking out new ideas, and clearly invest time and funding into new and exciting resources for the children. As a parent of neurodiverse children, I have found that my child's unique needs are considered, with safe, calming spaces provided to support them. Not only do the educators seek out relevant information to educate themselves about neurodiversity in children, they regularly communicate with me to further their understanding of how to meet the specific needs of my child and discuss any change in mood, behaviour and attitude so that I also understand what my child's needs will be by the time I collect them from care. I would have no hesitation in recommending SCECS Miranda to any parent."

They made transitioning into Kindergarten easy with their caring nature and love of the children which is shown daily as soon as we are greeted at the door. "My kids have been attending OSHC at OLOL Earlwood for the past couple of years. I am so impressed with the level of care that is shown to them. My kids love going to OSHC and enjoy the fantastic choice of activities and the tasty and varied food offered. I love the fact that they are in a caring, educational, fun and safe environment where the educators take the time to know them individually and accommodate their different needs. When I drop them off the educators meet their needs whether it’s extra hugs or a fun activity to help them get going for the day.
